With the High School season now officially over, it’s time to reflect on our performance at the State Championships, both in NJ and NY. We had an awesome post season as a club and we couldn’t be more prouder of all our athletes who put it on the line this postseason.
As a club, we were represented by over 40+ athletes between the NJ and NY High School State Tournaments. Overall, 18 athletes manage to manipulate their way on to the State podium, including 5 State Champions. There are no other words to describe this postseason other than we are so proud of all of you. You really showed up and performed and represented our club with the utmost class and respect.
Although a lot did not accomplish the goal of becoming State Champions, improvement and development was definitely displayed across the board. For those that placed and are returning, do not be satisfied, the work continues and only gets harder from here. The task of doing it again, is harder than ever and you will always have a target on your backs and be seen as the one who placed at states.
For those that did not accomplish their goals, evaluate your season, identify areas of improvement and make changes so results don’t repeat themselves. Set new goals and set out to accomplish them.
For those not returning, if you placed or not, we wish you good luck on the next chapter of your lives. Know, always, that your home is always open to you. Once a Scorpion, Always a Scorpion.
